Freaky Finds - 1971 Fantasy Folk Lace-A-Shape

I have been collecting games and toys for years, but I had never seen anything quite like this before.

I played with it briefly, like I do all toys that I find, just to make sure they are complete. Well it's not. However, I did lace a shape just to see what it was like. This game was obviously before video games, and lacing strings was fairly boring, just for the record.

What makes this game fun is the graphic artwork. The cards have these Picasso looking figures on them, meant to resemble numbers, but they look more like something you would imagine on an LSD acid trip. Looking at the cards is much more fun than lacing strings through them, trust me.

As you can see, some of these really try to be normal people from society, like little old ladies, post men and soccer players. But it becomes harder and harder to identify some of the characters.

Is that a hockey player? A business man?  Whoa! What is that speedy little man who appears to be the number 19??

The mod girl  is lovely. All the other characters give me the creeps.

Fortunatly, I found this as a fully functional adult and don't suffer any nightmares because of it.
